Introduction

Recapp ("we") publishes the Recapp mobile app and website, a family recipe book. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Data we collect

We only collect the data needed to operate the app:

• Account: email, password (encrypted, never stored in plain text), first name, last name, preferred language.
• Recipes: title, ingredients, instructions, images or audio recordings you import or dictate.
• Shared household: if you create or join a household, other members can see the recipes you share there.
• Usage: technical events (import, planning, cook mode) to keep the service running and diagnose issues.

Third-party services we use

To operate, Recapp relies on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Gemini — automatically analyzes and structures the recipes you import (text, photo, or audio).
• Cloudflare R2 — stores the images and audio files you import.
• Scaleway — sends transactional emails (password reset, invitations, shares).
• Railway — hosts our application server and database.

Mobile app permissions

The mobile app requests certain permissions, always for an explicit purpose and never for ad tracking:

• Microphone — to dictate a recipe and for voice commands in cook mode.
• Camera — to photograph a recipe to import.
• Photos / gallery — to import a recipe from an existing image or scan your gallery for photographed recipes.

Data retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all your data at any time by contacting us.
